FAQ- Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to know how to sail?

Not at all. We can provide a friendly competent and qualified skipper to facilitate your day. Alternatively if you know someone who has relevant sailing experience and skills, invite them along to skipper for you.

I can't swim?:

At times clients will indicate that some members of the Team say " I can't swim", With out any disrespec, we say that's OK, " we're going sailing not swimming"

What should I bring?

Clothing & attire

We always suggest bring more than you expect you will need. Our vessels have plenty of storage space and its better to have a jumper and swimmers there just in case than regret not bringing them!

As our vessels all have white decks, please wear white soled or non-marking soled shoes, (boat shoes and Dunlop volleys are always a safe bet)

Don't forget your sunnies, hat, sun block and drinking water for those warm days. We suggest that you leave all valuable jewelry, watches etc at home as items such as these have been known to end up at the bottom of the Harbour!

Life Jackets:

All boats have a maximum licensed capacity, no matter what the capacity there is a life jacket available for every participant.

Food and Beverage

Feel free to BYO picnic and drink or give us a call and we can organize it all for you.

Music

Don't forget your CDs or bagpipes if you wish.

Can you meet us in the City?

Yes- We can pick you up at selected wharves and even some waterfront hotels

How do we get to you?

Road - Parking is available in King Georges St (which turns into Bay View Street), McMahon's Point (access by steps down to the waters edge at # 23A) or Lavender Crescent (which follows on from Walker St. - horizontal access). Please check parking zone restrictions carefully! There is a pay-to-park car park at Luna Park car park off Alfred Street, with level walk around the boardwalk to Lavender Bay .

Buses - to North Sydney.

Rail - North Sydney Station is the closest, turn right out of station, right again between the Harbour View Hotel and the station, down the steps and straight down Walker St and through the park to the waters edge. We are 200m on the right in the white boat shed.

Ferry - Milsons Point is the closest. Walk past Luna Park heading west, follow the boardwalk right around the bay and we are in the North West corner of Lavender Bay.

What about the weather?

Sydney's weather is mostly fantastic In the unlikely event of showers, there is plenty of room down below on our yachts to avoid the drips. Our vessels also have above deck covers. If the weather is deemed dangerous, we will reschedule you at no charter cost.

Where do we park?

There is restricted parking in Lavender Crescent or King George St (unlimited on weekends) or there are many pay stations in North Sydney but the easiest access is from the Luna Park pay station, about 7mins level walk.
